Thursday caravans used in the shooting of Mani Ratnam's bilingual film Ravan star studded Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in Ooty has seized for having forged vehicle documents, police said Tuesday.
The two caravans had the same registration. "An investigation led to the discovery of fraud in the use of fake IDs vehicles and tax evasion, which in turn led to the seizure of four vehicles during the last week, said a police official.
According to police, vehicles seized in Ooty been estimated at Rs 12 million. Both Abhishek and Aishwarya is said to have used the vehicle during the shooting.
The shooting of Ravan has been moved to another Hill station Hogenekkal (about 300 km southwest of Chennai).
The police officer said he feared the "rack can be much larger, since all the top stars spend high price caravans. The police team has left for Mumbai and elsewhere in Tamil Nadu to seek other similar cars.
Sources close to Ratnam said: "To our knowledge, only two cars that were driven for us has been seized. Providers who lent logistical support to our outdoor units should be blamed. Our recording is started without error.
"Our office has taken up the issue with suppliers," the source. Ravan made in Hindi and Tamil. There are also stars Tamil actors Vikram and Karthik. Since shooting began last year, small problems have pursued the venture, including Ratnam determined with a mild heart problem and Cinematograph Manikandan deliver the work of another celebrated cameraman Santosh Sivan.
